
Lies Van de Vijver is a research coordinator of FilmEU at the Research & Projects Office of LUCA School of Arts.
As a researcher she works on historical and contemporary screen culture, film programming and cinema experience. She has been involved in several international projects and networks e.g. European Cinema Audiences, Cinema Histories and the HoMER Network.
She is the author of ‘Gent Filmstad. Cinema's en filmaffiches 1938-1961’ (2021) and the co-editor of ‘Mapping Movie Magazines’ (with D. Biltereyst, Palgrave, 2020) and the ‘Handbook of Comparative New Cinema Histories’ (with D. Treveri Gennari & P. Ercole, Palgrave, 2024). She is currently working on 'European Cinema Audiences: Entangled Histories and Shared Memories' with Daniela Treveri Gennari and Pierluigi Ercole (University of Exeter Press, in progress).
She has been a lecturer in Film History, Cultural Media Studies and Visual Culture.
