Lies Van de Vijver

I am a research coordinator of FilmEU at the Research & Projects Office of LUCA School of Arts. As a researcher I work on historical and contemporary screen culture, film programming and cinema experience. I have been involved as project manager and researcher in the international projects and networks European Cinema Audiences, Cinema Histories and the HoMER Network. 

I am the author of ‘Gent Filmstad. Cinema's en filmaffiches 1938-1961’ (2021) and the co-editor of ‘Mapping Movie Magazines’ (with D. Biltereyst, Palgrave, 2020) and the ‘Handbook of Comparative New Cinema Histories’ (with D. Treveri Gennari & P. Ercole, Palgrave, 2024). I am currently working on 'European Cinema Audiences: Entangled Histories and Shared Memories' with Daniela Treveri Gennari and Pierluigi Ercole (University of Exeter Press). I have been a lecturer in Film History, Cultural Media Studies and Visual Culture.
