Richard Tettey is a PhD candidate in Media Arts and Communication at Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon, Portugal. His research explores the intersections of sound design and storytelling in film, focusing on contributing to the field through academic and artistic innovation. With a strong foundation in film and media studies, Richard brings a diverse background in sound design, media production, advertising, and customer service to his academic pursuits. He possesses robust research skills and strong analytical, organisational, and teamwork abilities. Richard holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Film Direction and Production from the European Movie Masters (Kino-Eyes). His technical dissertation, "Between Reality and Fiction: Sound Design Approach for the Film ‘Spin-Off,’” showcases his expertise in sound design. Additionally, he co-authored a dissertation on time and memory. As a seasoned educator, he has taught sound production and organised workshops as a part-time lecturer at the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) in Accra, Ghana. He is also the co-founder and creative director of Encounter Radio in London, where he developed inspiring audio content. As a freelance film sound designer, Richard has collaborated on several award-winning films and documentaries, specialising in recording and editing sound for cinematic productions.
