Film director, writer, and photographer from Southern Lebanon.
After earning a degree in audiovisual arts, I worked briefly as an art director in film and advertising before shifting my focus to photography and filmmaking. As a photographer, I have shot for Architectural Digest, as well as renowned fashion designers and magazines such as Jdeed and Marie Claire Arabia.
My work explores intimate, personal themes, often drawing from lived experiences. I am interested in narratives that examine gender representation and societal expectations.
My first independent short film, Autostrade Beirut (Beirut Highway), premiered at the Raindance Film Festival in 2021, leading to an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for a two-year master’s in film directing across Europe at Lusófona University, Tallinn University, Edinburgh Napier University, and Dun Laoghaire IADT.
As part of my master’s program, I directed my graduation short film, Uma Mãe Vai À Praia (A Mother Goes to the Beach), despite not speaking Portuguese at the time. The film won several awards, including Best Short Film at Sophia Estudante 2024 (Portuguese Academy of Cinema) and Best National Student Short Film at the 30th Caminhos do Cinema Português Film Festival. It was also screened at major festivals such as IndieLisboa, São Paulo International Short Film Festival, Concorto Film Festival (Italy), and Beijing International Short Film Festival.
Currently, I am developing new projects in Portugal and Lebanon while pursuing a PhD in Media Arts and Communication at FilmEU CICANT through an FCT research grant.
