Nanci Tareco Neff Da Cruz

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, I moved to Spain a young age, where I grew up and graduated from high school focusing on arts and humanities. In 2003, I started a degree in Linguistics and English, followed by a diploma in film and television production and direction. From 2011 to 2015, I honed my acting and directing skills in London.
In 2019, I received a BA in Film Studies from Anglia Ruskin University, completing the major project, "Contemporary Ibero-American Productions and Their Distribution in the Film Industry Compared with Hollywood."  I produced my projects and assisted emerging filmmakers during my studies. 
Since 2016, I've been the creative director and workshop facilitator at Next Move Arts, a platform supporting film industry professionals with practical skills. I lead workshops, empowering participants to enhance their expertise and succeed in their careers.

I previously worked as a content producer for the Student Union at Anglia Ruskin University and volunteered at various film festivals across the UK and Europe, including the Cambridge Film Festival and Sundance London.
From 2018 to 2020, I facilitated Skill Reels film documentary workshops for Turkish youth with Balik Arts, managing a location for a Turkish film crew. I served as a jury curator for Taste of Anatolia and The Galactic Imaginarium Sci- Fi Film Festival.
From 2020 to 2021, I was a Content Editor/Producer for Little Dot Studios and Community Manager for Jellysmack, while freelancing as a content producer and social media moderator. I graduated with a Merit award from the M. A. in Film Distribution and Marketing at Birmingham City University in 2021.
Since then, I've worked in film distribution for various UK companies as a PR and marketing professional, engaging in pre- and post-production for films and distributing trailers for clients like Universal, Disney, and Netflix. I currently reside in Lisbon, Portugal, pursuing a PhD in Art Media and Communication at Lusófona University. 
My professional goal is to create a more equitable and decentralised system for media and film, ensuring access to culture and art for everyone, irrespective of location. Art, culture, and media resources should be available to all, both physically and financially.
I am fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, with basic proficiency in French and Italian.
