
Leen Engelen is a film and media historian based in Belgium, where she is connected to LUCA School of Arts. She teaches in the Erasmus Mundus joint-master programs DocNomads and FilmMemory. Her research interests include film and media history; media archaeology; critical approaches to immersive media such as panoramas, dioramas, magic lanterns and stereophotography; (digital) media heritage and working with historical media archives. Leen is the Belgian co-coordinator of the Film EU Centre of Excellence in Immersive Media Heritage (ImHerit). She is also president of the International Association for Media and History (www.iamhist.net).
