
Born in Lisbon in 1969 and graduated from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School.
With 30 years of experience in cinema, has edited 120 films, including feature-length fiction films, documentaries, and fiction series for television.
Collaborated with filmmakers such as João Botelho, João Canijo, Cláudia Varejão, Fernando Vendrell, Leonor Teles, Margarida Gil, Marco Martins, José Filipe Costa, António Cunha Telles, Jorge Paixão da Costa, and Margarida Cardoso, among others.Many of the films he worked on have been selected for prestigious festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival, Directors’ Fortnight, the Venice Biennale, and the Berlin International Film Festival. Notably, João Canijo’s “Mal Viver” won the Silver Bear at Berlinale in 2023.
Won the Sophia Award for Best Editing from the Portuguese Film Academy five times.
Member of the Guild of British Film Editors.
Ph.D. in Media Arts from the University of Beira Interior.
Assistant professor at Lusófona University in Lisbon.
