Christina Stuhlberger is a filmmaker whose artistic practice spans fine arts, curation, research, and film production. She is a co-founder of elephy, an artist-run platform for film production and distribution. Through elephy, Christina curates exhibitions and film programs, organizes discursive events and filmmaking workshops, and fosters collaboration within the artistic community in Belgium and beyond. She is a member of the selection committee for the European Media Arts Festival in Osnabrück and a programmer for the Courtisane Film Festival in Ghent.
Since 2020, Christina has been a doctoral researcher at KU Leuven, serving as a research assistant within the Intermedia research unit at LUCA School of Arts. Her artistic research explores the interplay between ethics and aesthetics in documentary filmmaking. Alongside her research, she teaches documentary filmmaking in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Program Doc Nomads at LUCA School of Arts. In her teaching, she emphasizes the development of artistic identity through the innovative use of sound as a foundational tool, encouraging students to explore how auditory elements can shape and enhance creative strategies in documentary filmmaking.
Christina holds a BA and MA in Audiovisual Arts from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium, and BSc and MSc degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan, Germany. She is a member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts, participating in its Young Academy division.
