André Rui Graça holds a PhD in Film Studies from University College London (UCL), where he developed a thesis on the commerce and circulation of Portuguese cinema. His research was carried out with a grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). He also holds an MBA from the Faculty of Economics from the University of Coimbra, an MA in Film Studies from UCL and a BA (Licenciatura) in Art Studies from the University of Coimbra - where he was awarded academic merit prizes. André Graça has published frequently, in both academic and extra-academic contexts, about topics related to culture, in periodicals and publishers of reference. Namely: Portuguese cinema, cultural policies; relation between film and music, and filmmaker's theory. He has presented his work in various points of the world (New York University, Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, Oxford University; UNICAMP, among others) and published in peer-reviewed journals. André Graça has complemented his core education with many workshops and intensive courses. In addition, he has carried out other academic duties, such as organising conferences and events, grant writing, and acting as editor and reviewer for academic journals. From his work as a project consultant in the corporate world, André Graça also gained experience in the development of networks, management, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He was a teaching assistant at UCL, and guest professor at Universidade da Beira Interior and Instituto Politécnico de Tomar. Currently he teaches at Lusófona University, is a researcher at CICANT (https://doi.org/10.54499/UIDB/05260/2020) and project consultant (in management, planning and strategy). He is involved in several EU-funded projects, namely CresCine, that intends to make the film industries of small European countries more competitive.
