Alain Quateau graduated from film school with the short film “Hey!”, which was selected to be shown as a supporting film before Schindler’s List in national cinemas. He began his career as a cameraman, DOP, and director before also focusing on film education at LUCA School of Arts. There, he became program head, department head, and eventually administrative director of the institution.
Meanwhile, he founded HolaGuapa, a collective of three screenwriters with whom he sold his first script for a detective series to a national broadcaster. That marked the beginning of a career spanning more than 60 screenplays for series including Witse, Aspe, Spoed, Zone Stad, and Code 37. For the latter, he and HolaGuapa also wrote the screenplay for the feature film.
