DOCTUS: Pathways of Contemporary Research

Feminism and Nostalgia | 3–4 June 2025 | Sofia, Bulgaria

The DOCTUS series provides doctoral candidates with a unique opportunity to meet, network, and collaborate through joint activities and workshops. It offers training in transferrable skills aimed at enhancing professional expertise and creative proficiency. DOCTUS also serves as an inspiring and safe platform to receive feedback on PhD projects.

This is the third workshop in a three-part series, following events in Tallinn (March) and Bratislava (May). This final session invites PhD candidates to explore themes such as feminism, filmmaking, maternity, and art history.

  2. Professor Rachel Garfield (Royal College of Art) – artist and author of Experimental Filmmaking and Punk
  3. Dr. Martina Mullaney (Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dublin) – artist, academic, and co-editor of The Missing Mother
  4. Interactive discussion and ARE guided exhibition tour
  5. Moderated by Dr. Michael Keerdo-Dawson (Baltic Film, Media and Arts School, Tallinn University), artist and lecturer

  2. Who: PhD students from Lusófona University, IADT, LUCA School of Arts, Tallinn University, LMTA, NATFA, VŠMU, and VIA University College
  3. Note: Where PhD programmes are unavailable, research Master’s students are welcome to apply.
