The second session of the DOCTUS: Pathways of Contemporary Research series will take place from 14 to 16 May 2025 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. This edition focuses on Archive, Collective Memory, Nostalgia, offering participants the opportunity to explore the film archive as a space where collective memory, nostalgia, and historiography converge.
Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines film theory, media studies, and filmmaking practice, this intensive programme brings together lectures, screenings, and hands-on workshops. Participants will engage with critical analysis, philosophical reflection, experimental archival filmmaking, and interactive storytelling.
This workshop is aimed at PhD candidates and early career researchers from the FilmEU partner institutions. It provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the role of film in shaping memory and identity, to share research in a supportive environment, and to develop creative and professional skills in an international context.
