On 15 May, Universidade Lusófona held its first excursion within the scope of the Cutting Edges project, with a visit to Nova Imagem, organised in collaboration with the Portuguese Association of Cinematography (AIP). The activity brought together professors and researchers involved in this project and proved to be a unique opportunity to discover the behind-the-scenes of the post-production of the series A TRAVESSIA, directed by Fernando Vendrell and starring Gonçalo Waddington and Miguel Damião. The series portrays the extraordinary transatlantic flight of Sacadura Cabral and Gago Coutinho, over 100 years ago. During the morning, participants had the chance to listen to and interact with the series’ director, director of photography Pedro Cardeira (AIP), post-production coordinator Jorge Anjos, the 3D team, and the colourists responsible for the final look of the series. The excursion focused on the special visual effects applied to the series and provided an in-depth insight into the creative and technical processes behind high-level audiovisual production in Portugal.
